EXAR Conference 2011

Ladies and gentlemen,

the international conference „Experimental Archaeology in Europe 2011“ will take place from 13.-16.10.2011 in Schleswig/Germany. It is organized by EXAR and the Archaeological Service and Museum of Schleswig-Holstein in castle Gottorf near Schleswig. We expect contributions and papers on themes of the Palaeolithic and Neolithic, on ship- and house-constructions of the Viking Age and a series of other themes around Experimental Archaeology. Excursions are planned to the Nydam ship in Danemark, to castle Gottorf and the Viking Age settlement and Archaeological Open Air Museum of Haithabu. As there is still place for lectures we’d like to encourage you to present your experiments on this conference. The papers will be published one year later in the „Bilanz 2012“. A register form and the actual „call for papers” you’ll find on www.exar.org. The dead line for registrations is the 15th July 2011.

Best regards

PD Dr. habil. Gunter Schöbel
