Experimental archaeology

What is experimental archaeology?

As archaeological method the experimental archaeology dedicates itself above all to the study of technological questions and examines practical aspects of antique ways of life. Exactly defined scientific questions form the basis for experimental archaeological attempts. Besides the results from the attempts must be measurable and comprehensible as well as documented in detail and published in a last step. Thus it is ensured that the results under the defined conditions can be examined at any time by other experimenters.
